Leading Air Compressor Design Engineer

Job Overview

Curtiss-Wright is seeking an experienced engineer to lead the design and development of air compressor products. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for coordinating with other disciplines and departments to develop overall compressor system solutions.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project work plans and execute projects to satisfy technical, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Develop and manage product design requirements in accordance with internal and contract requirements.
  • Lead project engineering team meetings with internal resources, customers, and the US Navy.
  • Prepare procedures, train manufacturing technicians, and ensure correct assembly and testing of products.
  • Develop tooling, prepare engineering drawings, and specifications to support manufacture and test of products.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain security clearances.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred) with minimum 7 years' experience in reciprocating or centrifugal compressor industry.
  • Project management or leadership experience while working in a team environment.
  • Material processing knowledge (Machining and Fabrication).
  • Knowledge of Industry Standards (Military, ASTM, SAE, etc).
  • Proficiency with solid modeling program (SolidWorks preferred).
  • FEA experience a plus.
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
