Compliance Officer - Brazil

This role requires a highly skilled Compliance Officer to oversee the implementation of compliance frameworks and policies within the organization.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain local policies and procedures to comply with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
  2. Ongoing monitoring of transactions and client behavior to detect and report suspicious activities.
  3. Oversee merchants onboarding processes and industries to ensure compliance with local regulations and have proper risk assessment.
  4. Review local licensing frameworks and triggers, and serve as the key point of contact with legal and law firms for licensing preparation.
  5. Implement a compliance training program for employees working with the LatAm region to promote a culture of ethics and local regulation awareness.
  6. Ensure data privacy and security standards are followed in line with the LGPD.
  7. Have ownership of data verification processes and compliance vendors relationship and payment application.
  8. Assess regulatory risks in new products or services, including partnerships with banks, acquirers, and card schemes.
  9. Update the company's compliance framework in response to changes in local regulations.
Requirements
  1. Minimum 5 years of solid experience in a compliance and AML related discipline preferably with a fintech or payment company.
  2. Good understanding and knowledge of the Fintech/E-wallets/Online Payment, with relevant AML Compliance Advisory experience.
  3. Be a trusted advisor and build sound relationships with stakeholders across all lines of businesses, and across functional groups. Must be driven towards being result oriented.
  4. CAMS or other similar qualifications are preferred.
