Visual Storyteller

Key Responsibilities:

• Create characters and enemies based on direction from the project Art Director and input from the game design team
• Collaborate on the visual style and ensure our designs are of the Epic quality bar
• Help us push the visual envelope by creating stunning and inspiring characters
• Create and iterate unique and stunning designs within a determined production schedule
• Partner with other departments to ensure the models work within the project workflow

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong creative/visual aesthetics, excellent design skills, leadership experience, and a clear rendering style in modeling characters
• Experience creating stylized to semi-stylized characters
• A strong portfolio that showcases modern fashion-forward aesthetics

As a Lead Character Artist, you will lead and manage a talented team of artists working on major initiatives within Fortnite. You will work directly with the art and design departments to create and iterate on exciting, purposeful characters that look amazing.

The ideal candidate should have a combination of artistic talent, technical expertise, and leadership abilities. They must be able to mentor and coach a growing team of artists, have experience in game art asset creation in various software packages, and have a passion for pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling.
