Trade Surveillance Specialist

This role is focused on ensuring the bank's trade surveillance framework is effective in identifying and mitigating market misconduct behaviors.

As a Trade Surveillance Specialist, you will work alongside the global trade surveillance team, focused on asset classes such as FX, Rates, Credit, Commodities, Mortgages, Equities, and E-Trading.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review, disposition, and investigate Trade Surveillance alerts within a regional GM team.
  • Escalate to the Central Trade Surveillance team where further investigation is required or propose changes/improvements to surveillance scenarios to reduce false positive alerts.
  • Maintain global transparency and consistency of roles, processes, and accountabilities, and enhance governance and associated documentation.
  • Provide support to those interacting with Regulatory agencies as required.
  • Work with global GM and internal stakeholders to identify control gaps, design, implement, and track remedial actions to close and improve conduct and culture within the business and wider organization.
  • Provide input into Enterprise and Global Markets policies and procedures.
  • Represent Global Markets at various committees, forums, and meetings as required.
  • Act as an escalation point to BCO and local leadership for items that require escalation, awareness, or approval.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of demonstrable trade surveillance alert review and dispositioning experience, a strong understanding of Market Misconduct behaviors across Trading and Sales business, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. They will also be able to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders, deliver results in a timely manner, and manage effectively in a dynamic environment.
