About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Trade Finance Specialist to join our team at Hitachi Energy. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in trade finance instruments, such as bank guarantees and letters of credit, to support our global business operations.

As a Trade Finance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in advising on trade finance instruments, including guarantee issuance, letter of credit management, and portfolio oversight. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure compliance with local regulations and customary practices while maintaining strong relationships with banks and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a center of competence for trade finance instruments portfolio management, providing expert advice and risk mitigation activities during negotiation and after contract conclusion.
  • Maintain knowledge of local legal environments and implications for trade finance instrument issuance, including specific local instruments like sureties.
  • Drive standardization of parent company guarantee trade finance instruments wordings (standard templates, bank templates, global library) and promote international standards such as URDG, UCP, ISP98.
  • Oversee trade finance instruments portfolio maintenance and processing, adhering to local regulations and relevant customary practices.
  • Release bank guarantee requests under the 4-eye principle and receive incoming Bolero messages, checking quality and content before import.
  • Assign advised export LCs to recipients based on maintained allocation guidelines or other sources.
  • Maintain bank relationships through monitoring existing or requesting new stand-alone credit lines.
  • Reconcile and execute timely bank fee payment execution and utilize global application Trade Finance Link (TFL) and Bolero communication channel where applicable.
  • Produce quarterly management reports and statistics over bank performance and guarantee and LC portfolio.
Requirements
  • 5-7 years experience in Trade Finance (administration, advisory, consultancy in guarantees and letters of credit)
  • Fluent English and local language proficiency
  • University degree in Finance, Banking, Treasury Management, or related field
  • Certification in trade finance instruments (e.g., CSDG, CITF, CTFP) considered an advantage
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, maturity in daily contacts internally and externally
  • Pro-active business attitude, knowledge of local rules and regulations, and regional market environment
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $80,000-$110,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus additional benefits package.
