As a Middle Office Analyst, you will play a pivotal role where data meets strategy. You will be at the forefront of market analysis, risk evaluation, and strategic decision-making, driving our proprietary trading desk and renewable energy strategies forward.

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in the energy sector, with expertise in market analysis and pricing models like NEWAVE, DECOMP, and DESSEM. Proficiency in Python and familiarity with database management systems such as MySQL and SQL Server are also essential. We are looking for someone who is fluent in English and Portuguese, both written and verbal, and has excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyzing trends, pricing dynamics, and regulatory changes in the Brazilian power market
  • Leveraging statistical models and tools to interpret data, forecast demand, and uncover market patterns
  • Generating short- and medium-term price forecasts using models like NEWAVE, DECOMP, and DESSEM
  • Tracking updates from ANEEL, CCEE, and ONS, assessing their impact on price forecasts and market strategies
  • Collaborating with IT and trading teams to develop custom scripts and tools, streamlining processes and enhancing decision-making
