Job Title: Market Risk Manager

COFCO Agri Ltd. is seeking a skilled Market Risk Manager to join our team in Sao Paulo, Brazil. As a key member of our Global Risk Organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the trading activity, implementing metrics that quantify related performance and risk, and reporting relevant statistics and analysis to Management, various Control groups and Trading.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of agriculture markets, including physical markets in Brazil, and be able to analyze, evaluate, and approve structured transactions conceived by the Business Development and Origination teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement Market Risk Analytics and industry leading Market Risk Methodologies in the region.
  2. Develop Market Risk reports highlighting key risks to the Company's portfolio and trading activity.
  3. Work with global peers within the Risk group to ensure consistent controls, systems, and processes are in place across the teams.
  4. Ensure that all Value-at-Risk movements are fully understood, reconciling how market movements and trading strategies have interacted to create the changes observed.
  5. Use market knowledge to understand and explain commercial activities and strategies, measuring and providing insights into commercial performance.
  6. Provide insight into embedded optionality and risk profiles of assets.
  7. Manage the daily relationship with key stakeholders, including Front Office, Operations, Finance, including Product Control and IT.
  8. Use historical, fundamental, and scenario-based analysis to help evaluate portfolio risk.
  9. Create analytical tools and models to capture risks related to assets and fixed commitments.
  10. Daily tasks to include risk reporting, understanding trading strategies, escalating and flagging risks to local and global senior management.
  11. Enforce the Global Market Risk Policy in the region.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience working in agriculture trading environment either in market risk, research, middle office, or trading.
  2. Good understanding of agriculture markets, including physical markets in Brazil.
  3. Ability to understand position management and price risk for a physical and future commodities book.
  4. Understanding of major market risk metrics, such as Value-at-Risk.
  5. Good understanding of options and modeling of Greeks is a plus.
  6. To be a self-starter and show proactive actions.
  7. Strong Excel skills are a must. R/C#/SQL or Python is a plus.
