Computer Vision Engineer

The role of Computer Vision Engineer is pivotal in helping potential buyers identify specific artworks by uploading photos. An existing artwork database and cross-reference system are already in place, but the client company requires a skilled engineer to improve the accuracy of the current image-matching system.

This position demands someone with hands-on experience in computer vision and machine learning (ML), including training and deploying models to production. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using Python and one major deep learning (DL) framework like PyTorch or TensorFlow, as well as OpenCV/scikit-image.

A strong background in image retrieval/reverse image search, metric learning, or similarity matching at scale is also essential. Additionally, this role requires solid understanding of embeddings (CNNs/ViT), loss functions (contrastive/triplet), and evaluation for retrieval tasks. SQL proficiency for data analysis, validation, and performance investigations is necessary too.

Experience shipping models behind services, familiarity with cloud platforms, and knowledge of vector search technologies would be advantageous. Ideally, the candidate should have a background in e-commerce, collectibles, or other large-catalog visual search domains.
