Key Role in Data Infrastructure

This is a critical position in shaping the company's data infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, developing data models, and optimizing SQL queries for large datasets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Pipeline Development: Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow to ensure seamless data flow.
  • Data Modeling: Develop data models across the architecture layers to support analytics and reporting.
  • Query Optimization: Optimize SQL queries for large datasets in AWS Athena and other relational systems.
  • Dashboard Development: Build and maintain dashboards and BI workflows using Metabase.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Analytics teams to define startup metrics and KPIs.
  • Data Quality: Ensure data quality, governance, and reproducibility across the data warehouse/lake.
  • Best Practices: Establish best practices for data engineering and analytics.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
  • Strong SQL expertise with experience tuning queries and designing efficient schemas.
  • Hands-on experience with Airflow for workflow orchestration.
  • Familiarity with AWS services, especially Athena, S3, and Glue.
  • Experience building analytics dashboards with Metabase or similar BI tools.
  • Understanding of Medallion Architecture and layered data pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of startup/product metrics and how to translate them into analytics workflows.
  • Proficiency in Python for data engineering and ETL tasks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with product and business teams.
