Senior SBA Underwriter

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SBA Underwriter to join our team at Umpqua Bank. As a key member of our Commercial Banking group, you will be responsible for analyzing and spreading financial data related to new and renewal loan requests, including lines of credit, commercial real estate, working capital, equipment financing, loans for business start-ups, and business acquisitions.

• Analyze and spread financial data to determine credit worthiness
• Present facts and offer opinions/recommendations to Business Development Officers
• Prepare summary and/or credit approval report documenting credit analyses and recommendation for credit decision
• Assist BDOs in gathering details for new loan requests and in processing servicing actions for existing relationships
• Review annual financials on existing loans and analyze the risk associated with the borrower's financial condition
• Review and monitor commercial and/or real estate loan documents for accuracy, completeness and adherence to approval conditions
• Follow up with customers to obtain all necessary information and clarification on financial analysis materials and resources
• May work with attorneys, the SBA, USDA, and financial or other legal resources to obtain correct and accurate documents
• May participate in customer and prospect calls with the BDO
• Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
• Years of relevant credit analysis or commercial underwriting experience and SBA lending knowledge
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced credit and credit quality skills
• Advanced knowledge of credit policies, procedures, practices and documentation
• Advanced knowledge of SBA SOP's
• Demonstrated sales skills and business development
• Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company

The pay range for this role is $90,000.00-$120,000.00, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors.
