Bridge Inspection Professional Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Bridge Inspection Engineer to join our team in Pennsylvania.

  • Plan, schedule, and conduct PennDOT bridge inspections in accordance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and the AASHTO Manual for Condition Evaluation of Bridges.
  • Liaison with client field/facility staff, lead/assist with communicating critical condition findings.
  • Direct other field team members.
  • Enforce safe operations in the field.
  • Create or assist with creating and/or reviewing all required inspection reports.
  • Ensure technical compliance with all applicable standards and specifications.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to our Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Support the Mid-Atlantic District and National Bridge Inspection group in performing bridge, ancillary, culvert inspections in different jurisdictions as required.
  • Support in the preparation of proposals, tasks, reports, and other documents.
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • 10+ years of experience in bridge inspection (NBIS) with PennDOT and other transportation clients.
  • Project Manager/Team Leader in PA and other states as necessary.
  • Extensive successful management of bridge inspection projects for PennDOT.
  • Attendance of NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course and additional PennDOT mandated courses/trainings.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
  • Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to supervise, train and direct the work of team members.
  • Cognizant of time and budget management.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by our health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
