The Medical Director is responsible for reviewing health claims and making determinations regarding the authorization of requested services, level of care, and site of service. This role involves analyzing complex clinical scenarios, prioritizing daily work, and communicating decisions to internal associates. The Medical Director will also participate in care management and may engage in discussions with external physicians to gather additional clinical information or resolve conflicts.
As a key member of our team, the Medical Director will be responsible for learning Medicare and Medicare Advantage requirements and operationalizing this knowledge in their daily work. They will also have the opportunity to work with diverse resources, including national clinical guidelines, CMS policies, and clinical reference materials.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as evidence of analytic and interpretation skills. Prior experience participating in teams focusing on quality management, utilization management, case management, discharge planning, and home health or post-acute services is highly desirable.
