Software Specialist

A talented software specialist is needed to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience with Linux and open-source software, as well as a background in computer science or a similar field.

This role involves resolving complex customer problems related to various technologies including Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills and be able to work effectively at all levels of the software stack.

  • Resolve complex customer issues related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, or Kubernetes and other open-source software.
  • Maintain close working relationships with internal teams.
  • Participate in upstream communities.
  • Develop bug fixes, backport patches, and collaborate with upstream contributors.
  • Review code produced by colleagues.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in technical approaches and methods.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively against business objectives.
  • Contribute to team discussions on process improvement, tools, and documentation.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and technically.

We are looking for an exceptional individual with:

  • An outstanding academic record.
  • A background in computer science, STEM, or a related field.
  • Experience with Linux and open-source software.
  • Knowledge of at least one programming language such as Python, Go, C, or C++ on Linux.
  • A drive to learn new technologies and resolve complex issues.
