Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement data protection strategies, encompassing classification, handling, access controls, encryption, and retention
  • Conduct regular data risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats to the organization's data
  • Create and maintain data inventories and manage data sharing controls
  • Lead incident response efforts related to data breaches and collaborate with stakeholders to mitigate impacts
  • Act as an expert and mentor for other data protection engineers, providing guidance on best practices
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, focusing on data protection and privacy
  • Proven experience with data discovery, classification, handling, and retention
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or .NET
  • Experience with data protection technologies, including encryption and data loss prevention tools
  • Strong understanding of data privacy laws and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks
  • 3+ years of experience with architecture and design
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud services
  • One or more cybersecurity certifications
