System Operations Specialist Role

We are seeking a System Operations Specialist to operate, maintain and administer our customer's infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency, availability, and visibility.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan maintenance activities, design documentation and standard procedures to improve infrastructure resilience and reduce incident occurrence.
  • Investigate system errors and outages, providing root cause analysis reports for improvement.
  • Collaborate with teammates to identify opportunities for automation, process improvement and technology advancements.
  • Develop and maintain team documentation on client systems and infrastructure, including procedures, policies and schedules.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and escalation capacity to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience working with Google and AWS Clouds, including infrastructure as code deployment with Cloud Formation, Terraform and Opsworks.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python and Scala, with solid understanding of microservices architecture and container technologies.
  • Clear comprehension of software development lifecycles and best practices from an infrastructure point of view.
  • Comprehensive systems hardware and network troubleshooting experience, including installation, configuration and performance tuning of Linux distributions.
  • TCP/IP networking, NIC bonding and network services configuration expertise.
  • Operation and administration of virtual infrastructure, including hypervisors like VMware, Hyper-V and KVM.
  • Ability to describe IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, pros and cons of each, use cases for virtualization and cloud computing.
  • Administration of web servers and supporting technologies, including network load balancers.
  • Experience managing networking devices, such as switches and firewalls from various vendors.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps tools, processes and culture, with ability to pick up new technologies quickly.
