Job Title: Airport Operations Manager

Job Description:

To ensure a safe, efficient and timely airport operation, you will be responsible for planning, organizing and controlling all aspects of the overall operation. This includes effective coordination of internal and external departments such as handling agents, caterers, other airlines and authorities at the airport to provide customers with a high level of service.

The role involves managing and supervising staff on duty to ensure that relevant areas of the operation are fully covered and assuming responsibility for running the station during absences of the Airport Services Manager.

You will analyze anticipated operational problems such as overbookings, adverse weather conditions, delays, cancellation of flights, crew flight time limitations etc. and undertake necessary remedial action to minimize disruptions and customer service impacts.

You will also brief handling agents, caterers and other service providers regarding Emirates' requirements for the day's operation including any special handling and update this information as necessary to ensure smooth operations and avoid unnecessary expenditure and inconvenience to our customers.

In addition, you will control expenditure on damage baggage replacement and lost baggage claims by delegating some of the baggage claims processing to supervisors/ASAs to ensure all baggage services aspects are processed effectively and in a timely manner.

You will assist the Airport Services Manager in preparing and maintaining the staff duty roster and in preparing the staff annual leave plan as necessary to ensure staffing levels are optimized.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have

  • a minimum 'A' Level or equivalent (Higher Secondary School)
  • completed relevant and recognized professional training courses in Customer Services and Ground Operations
  • a minimum of 5 years experience in Airport Customer handling / Operations, including at least 3 years in a supervisory position
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze anticipated operational problems and undertake necessary remedial action to minimize disruptions and customer service impacts.
  • Brief handling agents, caterers and other service providers regarding Emirates' requirements for the day's operation.
  • Control expenditure on damage baggage replacement and lost baggage claims.

  • Monitor KPIs for service performance and ensure that these KPIs are met consistently by each unit.
  • Undertake projects from time to time as advised by the Airport Services Manager in relation to operational standards and procedures.
