Business Analyst / Requirements Engineer

A business analyst plays a vital role in helping organizations understand their needs and develop solutions to complex business problems.

This dynamic role involves working with multidisciplinary teams to gather requirements, document processes, and communicate findings. Your key responsibilities will include collecting and documenting business needs, analyzing data to identify trends and insights, suggesting process improvements, creating reports and presentations for stakeholders, and collaborating with teams to implement solutions.

Additionally, you will be key to ensuring that project objectives align with business goals, and lead meetings and workshops to drive project success. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand customers' objectives, processes, and products to make appropriate recommendations for customer-specific needs.
  • Plan, conduct, and facilitate incubation sessions for business requirements gathering with subject matter experts and end users, ensuring deliverables are met.
  • Adapt and apply different delivery methodologies, determining the best methodology for the specific project.
  • Contribute to business cases, including cost/benefit analysis, risk assessment, project scope definition, and development of a high-level schedule.
  • Produce requirement specifications and outlines solution design documents throughout the project life cycle, incorporating change requests and finalization of requirements documentation.
  • Analyze and manage requirement risk, traceability matrix, and prioritize requirements.
  • Perform quality review checks on project deliverables.
  • Participate in development of test plan, testing, implementation, and training activities.
  • Participate in post-implementation activities, including problem-solving and measurement of benefits achieved.
  • Communicate effectively through different mediums at all levels.
  • Manage interdependencies within projects and other functions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or science, or a related field. Any higher degree is an advantage.
  • Professional experience in a related role and/or demonstrated competency utilizing relevant technologies.
  • Balanced mix of business acumen and affinity to technology and systems.
  • Innovative and creative self-starter, highly motivated, business, and IT savvy.
  • Independent and able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Must possess in-depth, strong problem-solving analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in delivering business solutions in time, quality, and budget.
  • Proven experience as a business analyst or subject matter expert in global projects and/or sound knowledge in insurance business.
  • Proven track record with project management and software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, ITIL, PMP).
  • Tough-minded, highly flexible, and determined to deliver assigned targets.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in application testing and organizing user acceptance testing.
  • Customer-oriented team player with good communication abilities, fostering effective collaboration and teamwork.
  • Strong proficiency in both English and Portuguese is required; Spanish language skills are a plus.
