Job Description

This role involves overseeing security personnel, ensuring a safe and secure campus environment. The Lieutenant will coordinate daily activities, provide training, and direct traffic control. In the absence of a higher-ranking officer, this individual assumes supervisory responsibility for all operations during an assigned shift.

Responsibilities
  • Manage shift operations, train, and oversee patrol activities.
  • Direct traffic, control crowds, security facilities, and training.
  • Provide training and instructions to subordinates to ensure responsibilities are performed efficiently while maintaining the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics.
  • Interpret and disseminate policies, procedures, and directives.
  • Prepare and review administrative reports of subordinates.
  • Manage vehicle operations.
  • Inspect security personnel and assign them to critical areas.
  • Monitor developments and incidents related to police service procedures, techniques, and equipment.
  • Respond to serious incidents and serve as liaison with outside law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
  • Five years of responsible work experience in law enforcement or security, including two years at a supervisory level or two years of training in criminal justice or a related field.
