The role of a senior audit professional is to oversee the entire audit process, providing expert guidance to clients in solving complex business issues from strategy to execution.
- Leads and supervises the execution of audit engagements across multiple industries.
- Reviews and audits business transaction cycles such as treasury, cash, capital expenditures, and other income and expenses.
- Collaborates to plan engagement objectives and an audit strategy that complies with professional standards and appropriately addresses risk.
- Understands the scope of the engagement and provides input on client retention and fee structure.
- Participates in the presentation of client financial statements and audit results to those responsible with client oversight.
- Supervises associates and interns on engagements and provides ongoing guidance.
- Identifies and introduces other firm services based on client needs and discovered opportunities.
- Proactively informs the engagement team of work status and requests information from the client as needed.
- Ensures client deliverables are met within expectations and sets deadlines.
- Collaborates with the leader to identify opportunities for efficiencies and proactive engagement management.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- CPA certification required.
- Five or more years' experience in the preparation of reviewed and compiled financial statements and applied working knowledge of US GAAP preferred.
- Prior experience in coaching and training entry-level accounting professionals required.
