The WHS Site Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of Amazon's employees and customers. We are seeking a motivated individual to collaborate with the Site Operations team to execute company policies and ensure compliance with local and regional regulations.
As a WHS Site Manager, you will be responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes. This will involve leveraging lean principles and kaizens to identify areas for improvement and implementing solutions to eliminate exposure to identified and potential risks.
Key responsibilities of the WHS Site Manager include:
- Managing overall compliance with local requirements and authorities
- Providing advice and guidance on Health and Safety matters to all stakeholders
- Providing management information and statistics related to your area of responsibility
- Supporting business change through effective change management processes
Additionally, the WHS Site Manager will be responsible for:
- Developing plans for on-site emergencies, peak safety, cold/heat stress, special events, and other unique WHS situations
- Performing WHS data analysis and establishing improvement plans
- Ensuring WHS record-keeping and providing accurate reporting and metrics to support business WHS initiatives
- Consulting and working with Legal for WHS regulations interpretations and investigations
The ideal candidate will have experience in Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people. They will also have experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
Minimum qualifications for the WHS Site Manager role include:
- Bachelor's degree
- Increasing responsibilities in Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience
- People management experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications
