We are seeking a seasoned professional to assume the role of Director for our Life Consulting Services in Cayman. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, advising on capital management strategies, and building a life consulting practice in Cayman.

The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in an actuarial role, preferably in a life insurance company or consulting firm. Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, or R, are essential. Expertise in financial modeling, project leadership, and actuarial software is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients in Cayman
  • Advise clients on capital management strategies, including impact of moving business to Cayman from other jurisdictions
  • Build and lead a team of actuaries in Cayman, leveraging resources from other parts of the Americas
  • Develop intellectual capital and service offerings relevant to Cayman clients
  • Lead large projects or small projects to meet client engagement objectives
  • Mentor junior colleagues and share knowledge with the team
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in other geographies
  • Review peer work product as a quality control measure
  • Lead client correspondence and meetings, managing expectations and raising issues to Client Relationship Managers
  • Support revenue generation by meeting billable hour expectations and generating new business
Requirements
  • At least 7 years of experience in an actuarial role at a life insurance company, consulting firm, or financial services organization
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, or R
  • Expertise in financial modeling, project leadership, and actuarial software is a plus
  • Motivated, independent learner willing to share knowledge with others
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a local team and coordinate teams across multiple offices
  • Ability to direct work involving technical issues and requiring problem-solving skills
