We are seeking a skilled professional to join our engineering team at BotCity. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for architecting and developing complex Java backend applications with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.

Leveraging your deep expertise in the Spring Framework, you will design and implement robust, secure microservices that drive automation at the core of some of the world's largest and most security-conscious enterprises.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop Scalable Backend Applications: Architect, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable backend applications developed in Java / Spring Framework.
  • Ensure High Performance: Ensure high performance and availability of applications within a microservices architecture.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers: Collaborate with product managers to understand requirements, ensure its technical feasibility, and translate them into reliable and scalable solutions.
  • Model Complex Applications: Participate in software engineering rituals to model complex applications.
  • Define APIs: Define private and public APIs for a world-class product.
  • Participate in Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews, ensuring best practices in backend development.
  • Write Technical Documentation: Write high-quality technical documentation to clearly communicate backend architecture and API design, ensuring ease of understanding and effective collaboration across teams.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Professional Experience: Proven professional experience (8+ years) in backend development using Java.
  • Spring Framework Expertise: Proficiency in Spring Framework.
  • Coding Reviews and CI/CD Pipelines: Strong experience in coding reviews and managing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Authentication and Authorization: Experience implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms using OAuth, JWT, or SAML.
  • Version Control and Project Management: Experience with version control and project management systems, particularly Git and GitHub.
  • Databases: Experience with SQL and No-SQL databases.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Startup Environment: Prior experience in an early-stage, high-growth and fast-paced startup environment.
  • Travel: Ability to travel as needed to meet the team.
  • English Language Skills: English - Advanced (Reading, Comprehension, and Writing).
Nice to Haves:
  • Containerized Applications: Experience in deploying containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.
  • Keycloak: Experience with Keycloak.
  • AWS Services: Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, ECR, ECS, EKS, and ELB.
