We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrocarbon Processing Technician to join our team at SBM Offshore. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our hydrocarbon processing systems.
Responsibilities Process Operations- Start up, operate, monitor, and shut down process and utility systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Monitor and maintain process parameters, including level, flow, temperature, and pressure, to ensure compliance with operating requirements.
- Ensure accurate and timely sampling and reporting of process data.
- Troubleshoot process issues to maximize sales quality and delivery volume.
- Maintain discharge water quality within regulatory guidelines.
- Operate electrical and hydraulic control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices, and fire and gas systems.
- Submit accurate and timely production reports and logging.
- Witness third-party calibrations and prove export oil meters.
- Work with O&M contractor management system policies and procedures, including isolation standards and permit-to-work systems.
- Ensure all operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
- Report all discharges, leaks, spills, injuries, and incidents immediately.
- Ensure vendor and subcontractor personnel understand and comply with environmental regulations.
- Participate in emergency response activities.
- Facilitate maintenance operations by applying and removing isolations as required.
- Operate under permit-to-work systems, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
- Advise maintenance personnel on hazards of plant and equipment.
- Maintain clear and precise communications during maintenance operations.
- Control activities of vendor and subcontractor personnel.
- Create and maintain effective working relationships.
- Create and maintain a positive work culture.
- Proven experience and/or qualification in hydrocarbon processing, preferably to N/SVQ Hydrocarbon Processing Level 2 or similar.
- 3 years of experience in hydrocarbon processing systems and utilities.
- Good knowledge of ESD, F&G, and DCS operation.
- Good understanding of permit-to-work, mechanical and electrical isolation standards, and risk assessment.
- Medically fit with offshore international standards such as ENG1 or equivalent.
- Personal skills: conscientious, safety-conscious, capable of assertive and positive communications and actions, makes effective and supportive team members, positive action is taken to support the team, good levels of written and spoken communication in English, clear understanding of behavioral and personnel issues.
- Technical skills: good standard of technical and professional knowledge as defined by competencies, good knowledge of hydrocarbon process and utility and control systems.
- IT skills: practical familiarity with standard 'Office' software package, operation and use of Internet and electronic mail system.
14X14 days on a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.
