About the Role:

Ebaotech International is seeking a highly skilled Freelance Legal Advisor to join our team. As a Freelance Legal Advisor, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations in Latin America and other Portuguese-speaking countries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to laws and regulations in the region.
  • Conduct thorough research on commercial and compliance-related matters in the LATAM region to provide expert advice to the company.
  • Review and draft contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure they meet the company's needs and comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide training and support to employees on compliance-related matters and ensure they understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations in the region and provide recommendations for updates to the company's compliance policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a reputable law firm, international MNC, or high-growth start-up, with at least 3 years of experience in the TMT, internet, cloud, or other information technology business.
  • Native in Portuguese and professional in English.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and legal analytical skills.
  • Sophisticated communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to appreciate and grasp concepts and principles of law from multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ability to identify and escalate issues timely and appropriately, and to prioritize and respond to business needs and goals.
  • Sense of urgency, time priority, and accountability.
  • Capable and willing to work under pressure.
  • Details-oriented.
  • Willing to travel when needed (within 20%).
  • Honest and high level of integrity.
