Job Overview:The Import Specialist plays a critical role in processing and handling air and ocean import shipments for our customers. This involves ensuring the highest quality standards are met and providing service solutions that exceed customer expectations.
This position oversees the Customs House Brokerage (CHB) process, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations as well as JAS Forwarding operating procedures. The specialist is responsible for completing all customs house broker transactions and other government agency regulations in a timely manner.
Essential Functions:- Prepare, review, and process documents such as customer classifications, commercial invoices, and ensure files contain necessary copies, are accurate, and in proper sequence.
- Process customs entries and check customs release details to handle discrepancies promptly and accurately.
- Receive and track customer bookings/shipments, update clients on shipment status/delays, dispatch for delivery, collect proof of delivery (POD), and invoice all files.
- Comply with company business process guidelines.
- Bill/Invoice each file to respective customers.
