HSEQ Superintendent Job Opportunity

Job Overview:

Seeking an experienced HSEQ professional to lead our team in enhancing safety and operational excellence. As a key member, you will drive critical decisions and strategic objectives, contributing to the company’s success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive HSE strategies and programs that foster a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight on all HSEQ matters, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish and achieve annual goals and objectives, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Lead workshops and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills, driving a high level of HSE performance across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain project-specific Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) plans and other relevant documentation.
  • Conduct internal audits and inspections to ensure adherence to management system requirements and client/charterer expectations.
  • Engage with investigation teams to conduct thorough accident/incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of HSE performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the development and implementation of in-house safety training programs, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and skill-building.
  • Participate in emergency response planning, drills, and coordination with authorities and clients as needed.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in HSEQ roles, ideally with sailing experience and certification as a Deck/Engine Officer.
  • Strong understanding of human factors, risk assessment, and incident investigation principles.
  • Internal auditor certification for ISM, ISPS, MLC, ISO 9001/14001/45001 is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
