Urban Climate Action Specialist

The C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group is a network of nearly 100 mayors of the world's leading cities, working to deliver urgent action needed right now to confront the climate crisis. Mayors of C40 cities are committed to using a science-based and people-focused approach to help the world limit global heating to 1.5°C.

The Urban Climate Action Specialist will be a key member of the program team, providing vital project management support to facilitate the rollout of the work plan and coordination between different areas within the program. The role requires excellent analytical and administrative skills, as well as interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage systems and processes required to deliver the program from a project management perspective.
  • Support the program's work planning, tracking progress, identifying risks, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Play a key role in internal communications and coordination among the teams involved in the program.
  • Monitor the program's progress, including tracking key program data such as KPIs and deliverables.
  • Manage the coordination of key recurring meetings across the program.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience and skills in project management, with good knowledge of project management tools and approaches.
  • Demonstrable experience in tracking and managing data using tools such as MS Excel and Google Sheets.
  • High level of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail, with the ability to deliver quality results within tight timeframes.
  • Administrative skills and experience, including scheduling and coordination across multiple teams or stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient or native Portuguese speaker. Fluent in English (spoken and written).
