About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Data Officer to join our team at zeroG - AI in Aviation. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive data strategy that drives business growth and enhances our aviation offerings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement a Data Strategy: Create a robust data strategy aligned with our business goals and objectives, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security.
  • Lead Data Governance: Define data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Drive Data-Driven Innovation: Identify opportunities for data-driven innovation and improvement, and develop strategies to capitalize on these opportunities.
  • Lead and Mentor a Team: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of data engineers, analysts, and scientists to achieve our data goals.
  • Foster a Collaborative Culture: Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the data team, promoting open communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide Guidance and Support: Provide guidance on best practices for data architecture, data management, and analytics, and support the development of scalable data infrastructure.
  • Oversee Data Infrastructure: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable data infrastructure, ensuring efficient data collection, storage, and processing.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience (4+ years) in a data leadership role, preferably within the aviation or tech industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical expertise in data engineering, data warehousing, and big data technologies, including hands-on experience with data tools and platforms.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in AWS Products: Proficiency in AWS products, including experience with data architecture, data management, and analytics.
