**YOUR POSITION WITH TNC**:
The Prospect Research Analyst will work as part of the Latin America Development team. S/he will be responsible for conducting proactive and reactive research and collaborating with key stakeholders using advanced strategies that support a large decentralized fundraising operation in a campaign.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
The Prospect Research Analyst will work towards meeting the strategic priorities of the team by developing and implementing tactics in all areas related to prospect research. Primarily through prospect identification, sphere of influence analysis, and prospect research, s/he will create donor profiles and uncover existing and new donors and prospects critical to funding Latin America’s priorities. S/he must also be able to distill and convey information in a targeted and compelling way for Development leadership and other Conservancy staff. S/he will have substantial contact with stakeholders, and s/he may serve as the lead liaison with partners. The ability to analyze and prioritize donor pools and map donor characteristics and interests to Conservancy priorities is required. S/he will provide recommendations and targeted training related to the functional area of the team. The Analyst must have advanced knowledge of the systems and resources utilized by the team to provide programmatic support and coordinate communications related to the resources. The Research Analyst is responsible of maintaining the research library updated and ensure BBCRM accounts indicate the availability of research. S/he will be in charge of preparing grants reports with opportunities in the region and submit it in a monthly basis to the Latin American team. The Research Analyst will revise and identify network events for the team to attend with fundraising perspective. In addition, the Analyst will build reports, analysis, and research to support US engagement strategy as well as to engage with US/Global Prospect Research to align best practices and share information. S/he may take on additional duties to enhance the work of the team, which may include, but are not limited to, a more significant role in training, developing documentation, and/or enhancing the systems and tools used by the team. The Specialist will keep up-to0date on market trends and best practices to improve services. S/he will adapt processes and implement recommended practices to improve effectiveness.
**RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE**:
- Act independently within broad program goals to prioritize tasks in the absence of specific instructions and exercise independent judgement to identify and solve simple problems.
- Does not supervise any staff but may manage work of peers on departmental project teams.
- Demonstrates sensitivity in handling confidential information.
- Ensures compliance with TNC policies and procedures, and external (donor/legal/IRS) requirements.
- Will provide centralized support to several programs, as well as individual fundraisers.
- Will support the team in implementing the Research Strategy and its subsequent activities
- Manage client relationships.
- Support data analysis exercises including but not limited to review of portfolios, pipelines, and development-oriented research strategies.
- Following up projects with several variables, set realistic deadlines, manage a timeline, and ensure accountability.
- Provide input through project teams for the development and implementation of new initiatives or the improvement of existing programs.
- Monitor and support updates to the Events tracker tool
- Travel occasionally and work overtime as needed.
- Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.
- Work is diversified and may not always fall under established practices and guidelines.
- Work within scope of program’s strategic goals.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Bachelor’s degree and 2-year related experience or equivalent combination.
