About the Role:

- Position Summary: The objective of this position is to support all legal, corporate and regulatory issues related to Corporate Solutions ("CorSo") businesses with main focus on Brazil and some support to LatAm region. The Legal Counsel will work as part of a team with other Legal & Compliance colleagues in Brazil and LatAm and be a part of the Latin America Legal Team, with a direct reporting line to the Head CorSo Legal LatAm. The Legal Counsel will assist in maintaining legal oversight for CorSo's LatAm legal entities and will help enable business growth while serving as a gatekeeper to protect against legal, regulatory and reputational harm. The Legal Counsel will provide legal advice; collaborate with the business to understand legal needs, requirements and issues; source legal services internally and externally; and manage non-claims litigation and administrative procedures in general.
- Essential Responsabilities:

- Support CorSo's operations in Brazil
- Ensure compliance with all Brazilian insurance laws, regulations and internal requirements.
- Understand local and business unit operational structure and advice on legal risks; coordinate with internal stakeholders as appropriate (Tax, Regulatory, Risk Management and Compliance) and ensure legal entities are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
- Draft clear legal documents such as contracts, opinions, internal corporate and service agreements and other legal documentation.
- Analyse and/or draft digital contracts, technology transfer contracts, terms of collection, storage and processing of personal data
- Ability to analyse and communicate in a clear and concise manner any Brazilian law, proposed legislation or regulations that may have an effect on Swiss Re and its CorSo operations in Brazil.
- Monitor and coordinate network of outside counsels in the region.
- Ensure ongoing reporting based on allocated responsibilities.
- Manage and control non-claims litigation and administrative procedures in general, including reportings.
- Handle regulatory filings (registrations, authorizations, etc.).
- Handle corporate matters (meeting minutes, notarized acts, etc.) of the CorSo's legal entities in Brazil; as well as legal documents, such as complaints.
- Review procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements as well as Swiss Re Internal guidelines.

We are an experienced team of 5 lawyers who seek to understand and meet the needs of our clients, while providing holistic legal support as a one stop shop for legal services in the region.

About You:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the insurance industry
- Admitted to practice law in Brazil
- Excellent communication skills, orally and in writing in both Portuguese and English (advanced level of English required, Spanish a plus).
- Exceptional ability to handle multiple projects and work in different segments of the industry (insurance and reinsurance) and in different lines of business.
- Technology background.
- Ability to work in a target driven environment, under tight deadlines and pressure.
- Knowledge on digital law, regulatory insurance programs and familiarity with distribution channels, digital platforms, APIs.
- Experience in data protection matters and Records Management and Retention
- Ability to work with diverse teams across multiple functions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with successful experience in dealing with external stakeholders.
- Ability to summarize issues into concise memos/presentations.
- Good judgment and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude.
- Advanced Word, Excel and Power Point skills are a must.
