Deputy Chief Accountant

**WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR**

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Chief Accountant in Brazil to coordinate all accounting processes, from payroll to taxation.

The new team member will join our international accounting team and will work onsite in our São Paulo office on a regular basis.

In this role, you will manage such projects as the automation of month-end closing, tax calculation, and the document signing process.

**WHAT YOU'LL DO**
- Oversee all accounting operations, including Billing, AR, AP, GL, Cost and Inventory Accounting, Revenue and Expenses Recognition.
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring alignment with tax authorities.
- Prepare and publish other monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on time.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Lead payments processes and manage treasury operations.
- Liaise with banks and external consultants, including payroll advisors.
- Ensure accuracy and high quality in financial transactions and reporting.
- Adhere to government reporting and tax filing requirements.
- Enhance internal controls through documenting and refining business processes and accounting policies.
- Assist in administrative coordination.

**WHAT YOU'LL BRING**

**Must haves**:

- Strong empathy.
- Leadership in process management.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience in creating financial statements and submitting tax returns.
- Experience working with treasury tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proactive ownership and a can-do attitude.
- Bachelor's degree Accounting, Business Administration, Law, or Economics.

**Nice to haves**:

- Experience with month-end/year-end closing cycles and audit processes.
- Fluency in English.
- Good presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven working experience in a similar role, specifically as an Accountant, Financial Controller, or Treasury Manager.
- Experience working in international holdings with multiple subsidiaries.
