Senior Data Architect, Data Lake, Proserve

8+ years of experience of IT platform implementation in a technical and analytical role.
- 5+ years of experience of Data Lake/Hadoop platform implementation, including hands-on experience (implementation and performance tuning) in Hive/Spark implementations.
- 2+ years of experience leading data engineering teams.
- Experience with one or more SQL-on-Hadoop technology (Hive, Impala, Spark SQL, Presto) and developing software code in one or more programming langues (Java, Python, etc).
- Experience ingesting data from different sources and/or ETL development experience (Nifi, etc).

At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we’re hiring highly technical data architects to collaborate with our customers and partners on key engements. Our consultants will develop, deliver and implement data analytics projects that help our customers levge their data to develop business insights. These professional services engements will focus on customer solutions such as Data and Business intelligence, machine Learning and batch/real-time data processing.

Responsibilities include:

- Delivery - Help the customer to define and implement data architectures (Data Lake, Lake House, Data Mesh, etc). Engements include short on-site projects proving the use of AWS Data services to support new distributed computing solutions that often span private cloud and public cloud services.
- Solutions - Deliver on-site technical assessments with partners and customers. This includes participating in pre-sales visits, understanding customer requirements, creating packed Data & Analytics service offerings.
- Innovate
- Enging with the customer’s business and technology stakeholders to create a compelling vision of a data-driven enterprise in their environment. Create new artifacts that promotes code reuse.
- Expertise - Collaborate with AWS field sales, pre-sales, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Athena, Glue, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, Amazon EMR and Amazon Redshift.
- Leadership - Lead data architecture and data engineering teams to deliver project implementations successfully.

Since this is a customer facing role, you might be required to travel to client locations and deliver professional services when needed, up to 50%.
- Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with Apache Hadoop and Hadoop ecosystem relevant tools (Sqoop, Flume, Kafka, Oozie, Zookeeper) and intcting with Linux based systems.
- Understanding of database and analytical technologies in the industry including NoSQL databases, Data Warehouse, BI reporting and Dashboard development.
- Customer facing skills to represent AWS well within the customer’s environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-of, best practices, project manement and risk mitigation.
