**JOB INTRODUCTION**:
G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated security management solutions, has a vacancy for a General Manager based at our operations in Gauteng, reporting to the Commecial and ESS Director.

The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which a General Manager plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.

The position requires at least 3-5 years’ experience within a sales environment. Relevant industry related experience would be advantageous.
The position requires at least 5 years senior management experience within a security or services environment.

G4S have been made aware of phishing scams where someone has used the G4S brand to try and extort money from others in exchange for fictitious valuable assets.

**ROLE RESPONSIBILITY**:
**Effective Management of Access and Beyond’s Financial Performance**
- Manage relationship between actual results, budgets and forecasts
- Initiate cost saving model and controls
- Gross Margin Management
- Direct Wage control / ER management
- Overheads control
- Contract profitability
- Ensuring that claims against the Company are prevented or minimised through regular customer risk assessments.
- Existing Revenue Growth
- Escalations are achieved

Manage the Access and Beyond’s cash flow
- DSO management
- Capex

**Effective Management of Contractors, Vendors And Suppliers**
- Ensure that the correct procedures are followed and that the suppliers are registered before use
- Monitor relationships and performance delivery of suppliers
- Monthly reviews with key suppliers and customers
- Escalate poor service levels
- Ensure compliance of company standards and procedures.
- Collaborate and negotiate with suppliers for best pricing and payment terms.
- Identify new supplier requirements and facilitate new requests, supplier compliance management

**Technology Innovation**
- Investigating market place for new innovative products and solutions.
- Sourcing and Testing new Technologies
- Facilitate the Integration of new Technologies into G4S technology solutions
- Designing bespoke solutions for Customers

**People Development**
- Succession Planning and Employment Equity
- Attendance of subordinates at scheduled training interventions (Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report comparison), and meeting of employment equity goals

Leadership
- Staff motivation levels
- Ensuring that performance assessments of all subordinate employees are conducted, and corrective action implemented where necessary.
- Ensuring that acceptable standards of behaviour at work are maintained by all subordinate employees, as required by G4S’s code of conduct and disciplinary code.
- Ensuring that all disciplinary actions are conducted in compliance with Company policies and procedures and relevant HR legislation, disciplinary and best practices

Manage relationships with G4S direct reports and subcontracted resources

Adequate channels of communication with related support staff are in place

Compliance is maintained with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act and Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) regulations

Leave planning is carried out to ensure project deliverables are met

- Ensure customer retention and growth of existing and new customers
- Ensuring that all required formal customer meetings are scheduled, attended and documented.
