**Legal Counsel, Corporate Commercial and Legal Services - Belo Horizonte**

We have a strong background and exceptional reputation for delivering major capital projects to long-standing clients through our core delivery centers in Australia, North America, South America, South Africa and Europe.

An exciting position has become available for lawyer to join our Corporate, Commercial and Legal Services Group based in Belo Horizonte. Reporting to the General Counsel and Regional Director Commercial, you will work with a variety of internal stakeholders as well as other members of Hatch’s legal and commercial teams.

You will be a trusted advisor to our business for some of the largest and most significant mining, energy & metals projects in South America spanning a range of key markets. You will work side-by-side with driven professionals who are both industry leaders and passionate about being a part of a company that is dedicated to delivering a better world through positive change.

**Client Focus**

Strengthening client relationships, client engagement and networking using collegial and consultative approach.

**Legal & Commercial Focus / Key Tasks**:

- review and prepare commercial agreements and other relevant legal and commercial documents to create maximum value and minimize risk in a manner consistent with Hatch’s internal governance and strategic business plan
- assist with the development and implementation of global and/or regional commercial strategies
- manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective resolution of claims or disputes
- develop and improve Hatch’s contractual and commercial practices
- in conjunction with other members of the Corporate, Commercial and Legal Services Group, develop and deliver training and/or publications on commercial and legal topics of interest and ensure that Hatch’s precedents are updated to reflect key developments in the law
- general corporate legal services

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor of Law or equivalent degree from an accredited law school is an asset.
- admitted Attorney
- 2 - 5 experience with a major law firm and/or the in-house legal department of a major corporation
- ability to confidently interact with Hatch’s clients and senior management
- detail oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills
- exceptional problem solver with a strong background in advanced commercial negotiations
- ability to remain calm and measured under pressure
- positive attitude and motivated, self-starter
- ability to function well as a business leader in a team environment
- strong client focus and ability to deliver sound legal advice in a manner that enhances Hatch’s existing business relationships
- able to prioritize, manage and execute a variety of time-sensitive tasks.
