This is your opportunity to join the legal team supporting Viasat’s Global Enterprise and Mobility Segment: Energy Services, Intelligent Edge Solutions (AI and SaaS), Maritime, and Land Mobile.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide advice to all levels of the Company in all areas, including Tax, HR, Operations, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Engineering, and Business Development, advising on legal issues and risks, compliance matters, deal structures, negotiation strategy, and company policies, and communicating legal concepts in a way that non-lawyers can understand.
- Draft and negotiate a wide variety of contracts over multiple product/business lines, including sophisticated sales and services agreements, vendor agreements, satellite and terrestrial network capacity agreements, and strategic alliance agreements, all consistent with Company policies and risk tolerance.
- Build and implement strategies for compliance with government requirements and early resolution of contractual disputes.
- Provide legal support for the group’s rapidly growing international operations.
- Assist in other general transactional and corporate matters as vital.
- Support compliance matters regarding local labor and employment topics.

**Requirements**:

- Law degree;
- 5- 8 years of proven experience as a licensed member of a Brazilian bar association;
- Experience in a 1st tier law firm and/or corporate legal department;
- Strong experience with Brazilian civil code, labor law, and tax law;
- Experience with labor and employment laws, including advising on Collective Bargaining Agreements;
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written; must be able to ask clear, concise questions involving sophisticated technology to get requisite answers from business partners and Legal Department colleagues;
- Experience drafting technology contracts in the telecommunications, IT, or software industries including software development agreements;
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills in both Portuguese and English;
- Ability to take initiative and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced corporate environment;
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and maintain attention to detail;
- Strong ability to work in teams and build good working relationships;
- Written and spoken fluency in Portuguese and English; and
- Ability to work in an office environment during all business hours.

**Preferences**
- Experience negotiating contracts for licensing of SaaS and Artificial Intelligence software;
- Experience negotiating with customers in the oil and gas exploration industry;
- Experience with global privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially those relevant for telecommunications and/or satellite companies;
- Post-graduate degree in Contracts, Public Law, or Tax Law;
- Experience using contract lifecycle management software;
- International experience and ability to travel (including international) up to 15% of the time; and
- Spanish language skills
