Strategy & Planning Associate

**About the Role**:
The Strategy & Planning Associate collaborates with business leaders to provide strategic, operational and analytical guidance for Uber Mobility in Brazil. In this role, you will be an integral part supporting the Brazil leadership team with the strategic decision-making process by cascading down global to regional priorities, leading our forecasting processes, translating our financial into operational targets and understanding and addressing bottlenecks that may harm our capacity to deliver our plans.

**What You'll Do**
- ** Strategic Ownership**: Help define the business’ short and long term strategy, working closely with and advising business leaders across the company on topics ranging from specific analyses to annual planning to multi-year visions
- ** Planning & Forecasting**:Lead monthly and annual planning (strategic and operational), which includes crafting a compelling country strategic narrative, identifying headline goals, projecting our main operational metrics and partnering with cross functional teams to determine corresponding OKRs in an integrated and cohesive manner.
- ** Problem Solving & Business Sense**: Structure and tackle ambiguous, real-world problems, using Uber’s rich dataset and external data sources. Identify business necessities and lead proposed solutions
- ** Project/Program Management and Stakeholder Management**: Be the glue that brings teams together to ensure critical initiatives reach our associates and customers. Be a hustling multi-tasker, driving cross-functional groups to decisions on strategically important questions. Be able to analyze the whole picture when leading several projects around a common initiative, keeping teams aligned to business objectives
- ** Governance**: Develop and coordinate governance and accountability models to ensure that teams are on track to achieve goals and course accurately as needed. Help to drive the vision for what the organizational structure should look like and ensure that the organization has clear roles and responsibilities by team
- ** Analytics & Insights**: Acquire deep understanding of the operational aspects of our marketplace and generate strategic insights that surface growth opportunities in both the core business as well as new verticals.

**What You'll Need**
- ** Education**: We encourage people from all backgrounds to apply
- ** Years of Experience/Industry**: 4+ years experience in consulting, business intelligence strategy and / or investment banking.
- ** Business Understanding**: Ability to balance attention to detail with swift execution. Experience getting in the weeds of data, balanced with the ability to see the big picture
- ** Communication**: Portuguese and English proficiency. Demonstrated experience interpreting and communicating data to senior audiences in an engaging and comprehensive, yet succinct manner. Explains big-picture context for projects, giving the “why” behind the work. Ensure the right messages, presentations, and forums to bring together and cascade strategy and plans. This will include monthly business reviews, board presentations, and strategy documents
- ** Teamwork**: The nature of the team implies constant collaboration and interaction with cross-functional teams (Operations, Finance, Product, Marketing, Public Affairs, Legal, Tax, HR, etc.) in Brazil to ensure we are bringing all available tools to bear on our toughest problems
- ** Analytical Expertise**: Strong quantitative skills using Excel/Google Sheets

**Preferred Qualifications**
- ** Adaptability**: Ability to efficiently handle and prioritize sophisticated operations that require the support of peers and other teams, and deliver results in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, while maintaining high-quality work standards
- ** Planning & Organization**: Ability to plan sophisticated or multi-faceted projects, defining timelines, results, interdependencies, and prioritization, and delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate team members.
- ** Analytical Expertise**: SQL or other programming language (Python / R) is a huge plus
