**The Work You’ll Do**:
As a Regulatory Specialist II, the primary responsibility will be to provide substantive research and analysis of rate changes, form changes and compliance issues. Individuals in this role are also responsible for representing the Regulatory Analysis Department on cross-functional initiatives such as those involving Sales, Marketing or Development.
- What are my responsibilities going to be, more specifically?_
- Proactively and continually monitor compliance issues in assigned jurisdictions for all verticals
- Proactively and continually monitor tax rate, form filing requirements and other compliance developments in the field of transaction tax across the country, with special emphasis on changes that would impact Sovos’ product and service offerings
- Determine the impact of compliance changes on Sovos systems and provide timely and accurate information to the Regulatory Content Team
- Research monthly new content projects
- Research and analyze client inquiries and provide a clear and detailed response
- Support Sales Tax Services by discussing filing issues related to clients
- Support the Marketing group by providing tax-centric marketing material and webinar participation
- Support Product Management and Development teams in defining requirements and providing tax scenarios
- Utilize the senior expertise on the team to develop and refine your skills
- Initiate and participate in thoughtful and constructive discourse with your senior and junior colleagues
- Own distinct research projects, ensuring project drives to on-deadline completion
- Seek involvement in projects and tasks that will stretch beyond your day-to-day responsibilities
- Work with our Regulatory Counsels to ensure all changes are made timely in our systems
- Work with our technology teams to accurately implement any relevant tax law changes into our offerings

**What We Need From You**:

- 1-2 years’ experience in the area
- Thorough understanding of the complexities of tax compliance worldwide
- Understand Sovos' role in simplifying the tax compliance burden for our clients
- Substantial proficiency in our internal tools used to maintain system content
- Expertise in tax research techniques and analysis
- Ability to explain complex tax rules in clear language
- Accountable for issues and tasks to which you are assigned
- Skilled in using multiple research-related tools and techniques and able to clearly and accurately communicate information
- Ability to explain complex tax rules in clear language for tax and non-tax professionals both internally and externally
