Senior Manager Operational Ehs

**About Us**:
**Position Purpose**:
Lead, direct and oversee Operational Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) activities at all business units and facilities in Brazil through the execution of corporate EHS strategy. Direct and guide Operational EHS team members to ensure that facility compliance is evaluated, EHS programs are implemented, incidents are analyzed and improvement plans are developed; all with the objective of meeting and exceeding EHS goals. The role requires extensive travel (50%) across Brazil.

**Key Job Activities**:
To lead and champion a strong safety and EHS compliance culture across Brazil, through regular communication, provision of information and re-enforcement of key messages including corporate EHS goals and the requirements of EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
Direct, conduct and review studies as required ensuring safety working practices, equipment and facilities focusing on risk, work hygiene, ergonomics, fire and sanitation practice in compliance with regulatory norms/standards. From these studies develop and implement techniques for the management and control of physical, chemical and biological risks.
To ensure EHS improvement goals are met by identifying and analyzing shortcomings and developing solutions (including accident reduction or safety improvement plans) to drive continual improvement.
To assist Operations to maintain facility compliance with all health and safety regulations and company requirements by ensuring that facilities are assessed on a routine basis.
To develop and lead the EHS team members that report to them and develop their professional skills through coaching, mentoring and training.
To ensure our EHS training and competency program is implemented and followed. Ensuring that we are effectively communicating EHS issues to team members at all levels.
Ensure documentation related to health and safety at work (PCMSO, PPRA, LTCA among others) updated and in compliance with current standards and legislation.
To QA/QC incident entries into our EHS Management system to ensure accuracy, adequate review, follow up and closure. Spot check and audit EHS team member’s work.
Work with the HR team to develop and implement policies and procedures for occupational health
Perform other related duties as required or requested.

**Education**:

- Required Education: em College Degree

**Experience (North America & LATAM)**:
Required Years of Experience (North America only): 7+ years
Preferred Experience: Broad extensive knowledge of theories and techniques of a function.
For Management jobs, years of management experience preferred: 5-7
Required:
Degree in Work Safety Engineering.
Fluent to a high standard in both spoken and written Portuguese (Brazil) and English.
Registration in CREA.
Holds a valid motor vehicle license.
Preferred:
Experience with waste management desirable
