Overview:

- The Motor Vehicle Mechanic repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors.

**Responsibilities**:

- Determines exact nature and extent of repairs required and performs major and minor overhaul and repair on engines, power train, transmissions, suspension, steering and braking operational systems and related electrical, fuel, hydraulic, wheel and engine assemblies.
- Performs and records operational checks, diagnostic repairs, and adjustments as required.
- In general, the work of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
High School graduate or equivalent.
- A valid US driver’s license is required, and ability to drive a standard transmission vehicle
- Ability to acquire and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Must have valid US Passport.
- ASME certified
- **
Experience**:

- experience in wheeled vehicle maintenance.
- Military experience and training in a maintenance related field preferred.
- Personnel working on fire trucks, fuel trucks, and ambulances shall be a certified Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT).
- **
Skills**:

- Must understand and be well versed in the performance of Organizational, Direct and General Support maintenance.
- Knowledgeable of tools and equipment used in repairing and maintaining equipment.
- MS Office suite expertise is required as well as excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
- Fluent in English as exemplified in writing and in verbal skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to work independent and as a team member.
