**Librarian Teacher (Pinheiros)**:
The role is primarily to oversee the library services in the Secondary school with students and teachers to support research and academic integrity. The librarian must support the philosophy and pedagogical approach used by the school and ensure they are thoroughly familiar with the IB framework and philosophy.

All St Nicholas employees are expected to become involved in the school’s pastoral and co-curricular life, including after-school activities and occasional community events.

**General Duties**:

- To develop and manage the library to best support student learning.
- To maintain ethical and professional standards in attendance, punctuality, appearance, conduct, meeting of deadlines and the general fulfilment of responsibilities.
- To fulfil this role in a way that serves all members of the community, including parents and teachers
- To have a passion for education, literature, and research, and strive to inspire this passion in the learning community.

***Professional Knowledge**:

- The post holder must have the relevant experience and required qualifications specified below.
- To have secure knowledge and understanding of the IBO’s standards and practices
- To understand the school’s beliefs about learning and promote the school’s values and mission through attitude, work, and interactions.

***Experience**:

- Be a qualified librarian (Essential - Biblioteconomia, for example)
- Hold a recognized qualification as a teacher (Desirable - Pedagogia, Letras, for example)
- Have proven experience as a qualified Teacher Librarian (Desirable)
- Have teaching experience within a DP and MYP school (Desirable)
- Demonstrate a commitment to personal, and professional learning and growth
- Strong ICT skills
- Be familiar with the Destiny Library management system, G-Suite, and Managebac (Desirable)
- Preferably have experience in explicitly supporting students with the Extended Essay and Personal Project (Desirable)

The school librarian must abide by the school’s code of conduct, and observe all regulations on strict confidentiality.
