We are growing rapidly around the world and need to make sure that we have the best setup to support that growth in every region. You will help to shape the future of Wise in Latin America. You will lead a small team of compliance officers to oversee the business operations of Wise Brazil. You will work with the first line teams to support them in understanding local compliance requirements and risks they are facing while they seek new opportunities to grow the business. The Brazil compliance team is part of our wider Emerging Markets Compliance team spanning LATAM and MEA and will report to the Emerging Markets Compliance Director who is based in London. This position requires close partnership with our Group Financial Crime and Regulatory Compliance teams as well as collaboration with other regional compliance teams where required. **Your mission**: - Be responsible for the effective delivery of the second line compliance function for Wise Brazil as part of the three lines of defence. - Manage the Brazil Compliance team, which includes both financial crime and regulatory compliance officers. - Be responsible for ensuring the Wise Group target operating model is effectively implemented by Wise Brazil - Ensure Brazil requirements are factored into group wide compliance policies, procedures and control frameworks - Ensure Wise Brazil is able to detect upcoming changes in the regulatory perimeter and implement required changes to its policies, procedures and controls to comply - Manage the Brazil Compliance policy framework and ensure effective second line monitoring and testing is conducted to provide assurance to the board the business is compliant - Embed a good compliance culture at Wise Brazil to promote risk awareness in line with the three lines of defence model. Where necessary, you will coordinate and/or conduct training for relevant Wisers. - Provide Compliance reporting to the Wise Brazil board and local and global committees. - Manage the relationship with the local regulators - Develop a strong relationship with LATAM product teams to cultivate a culture of compliance so that they are able to proactively think about compliance risks and opportunities; - Use data to articulate emerging trends across our products and proactively work to mitigate this with product teams in the region; **A bit about you**: We are looking for someone passionate about payments, fintech and compliance risk management and with an eye on the future. You should have: - Minimum 6 years working in Compliance at a financial institution; - Fluent English speaker; - Experience leading a team - Deep understanding of the regulatory environment in Brazil. - Experience working with local regulators - Strong written and oral communication skills, - Strong project coordination and management skills; - Willingness to challenge teams and themselves on how to best serve our customers, while keeping processes robust and compliant; - Ability to travel internationally on a regular basis: - A sense of camaraderie and good humour while under pressure or tight deadlines; - Experience as a lead and mentor for more junior members of the team at Wise Brazil LI-KE1 **Additional Information** For everyone, everywhere.
