What is the LatAm Payroll Analyst responsible for?

Work closely with Payroll Manager and the broader Payroll Team to analyze, audit, and validate payroll data and submit to the respective payroll vendors for Latin America. Coordinate all (monthly) payroll and processing activities for countries - Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay - working closely with the Payroll Manager, Coordinator, and HR. Perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility; compiling data, conducting research, and providing support to the Payroll Manager as appropriate. Emphasis will be on detail, problem solving, and auditing. Function as the principal contact for employees and other customers for Latin America payrolls and as assigned.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of the LatAm Payroll Analyst?
- Process/audit all new hires, terminations, transfers, employee changes, multiple earnings and deduction components, salaries, vacations, overtime, absences, bonuses, and Ad-Hoc Payments
- Process very complex and secondary payroll functions (i.e., calculating final payroll, journal entries, 13th salary pay, Brazil union increases ESIP, etc.) with mínimal supervision
- Prepare and submit journals and accrual files (vacation and 13th salary) to the respective accounting contact for upload; work closely with accounting team to assist with variance queries, balance sheet reconciliation, etc.
- Act as a liaison between payroll department, HR, FTT and outside 3rd party vendors; handle Vendor Relations to ensure the payroll data security and integrity, accuracy, and effectiveness
- Audit and balance all payroll year-end items including Brazil Ye statements and other reporting requirements for all countries
- Handle 13th salary payments and Mexico vacation premium payments
- Coordinate various ad-hoc projects as directed by the Payroll Manager (e.g., setting up new locations/business units, procedural changes, and documentation, etc.)

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
- Fluent in English and Portuguese
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
- 5+ years of experience in payroll processing for Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, and Uruguay; experience with eSocial requirements in Brazil. Experience with time tracking and absence management requirements for each country; solid experience with Brazil Vacation requirements and tracking
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other formulas)
- Good analytical skills with high level of accuracy and attention to details
- Deep knowledge of personal income tax legislation, year end reporting requirements and local labor law/regulations
