DESCRIPTION Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is Amazon's "Last Mile" delivery service, responsible for delivering packages (and smiles) to households/businesses across the planet. AMZL Brazil is at the exciting phase of building logistics network at rapid scale since 2021. We aim to be the first carrier choice for our customers through best delivery experience. To realize this, we are launching new buildings, hiring passionate people and deploying best at Amazon technology to expand our network. Currently, we are looking for a Regional Operations Manager to manage multiple sites across the national territory. This manager will lead a team comprised of multiple managers, frontline staff and associates. This position will be the single thread leader owning existing site operation and future operations in a specific region. The role influences the operations to ensure the proper execution according to best in class standards deployed in the country. It also influences AMZL’s strategic investment decisions, drives innovation and owns the cost structure to run network efficiently with safety for our customers. To add, building the right mechanisms to grow our future leaders across job levels remains a key expectation from this role. Responsibilities include managing and leading a team of on-site management, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations and building leadership bench strength within the organization. Key job responsibilities - Will manage the operations, setting the pace by the example as a boots on the ground manager, who will own and drive standardization across the sites. - Drives creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other Lean initiatives to enable the delivery station to meet and exceed business plan. - Responsible for the overall safety, quality and performance and customer experience of the delivery stations - Will set and clarify requirements and expectations for on-site management. - Measures performance, provides feedback, and holds management accountable for their performance and the performance of their delivery station. - Leverages on-site management by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans. - Takes proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and among the network. - Works closely with support staff (HR, Finance, LP, Safety, IT and other delivery station management) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives at their delivery station, as well as providing needed support and resources for other staff initiatives. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor’s Degree - High direct management experience, including a salaried and hourly workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment - Highly experienced on managing a large last mile logistics' network nationwide - Experience with performance metrics and process improvement and Lean techniques - Experience with the full staffing life cycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and terminations - Fluent in Portuguese and English. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Degree in Engineering, Operations or related field and MBA preferred. - Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons. - Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations - Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple facility types across the nation - Experience operating manufacturing facilities or leading a business team of a global company. - Ability to manage diversity of culture in organizations as well as matrix structure of organization. - Ability to be a hands-on leader that can perform day to day operational and tactical challenges, as well support the org with strategical decisions that could drive operational efficiency for the long-term.
