You'll be joining the Tellus team at an exciting time. We have a proven model, a novel offer, demonstrated product-market-fit, ample runway and a deep product pipeline. We play in a massive opportunity space, and this role will have an outsized impact on the shape of the product, technology and engineering community at Tellus. You will join a team of fewer than 50 employees, so we are looking for a thoughtful, experienced leader to help us drive the pace of feature development, while also contributing positively to the Tellus culture.

We are seeking a mid/senior-level Ruby developer with exceptional depth and breadth of skill to join our engineering community. You are a person of integrity and character, a supportive teammate, and a player-coach with strong communication and collaboration skills that finds satisfaction in mentoring your peers and sharing knowledge gained. You have a bias towards action and move swiftly and thoughtfully to create impact. You are a problem solver, a systems thinker and shaper, and seek out opportunities to challenge yourself and your colleagues. You love to dive into complex engineering problems and understand the importance of alignment and accountability as a member of a fast-paced, cross-functional delivery team.

As a senior member of our Engineering team you will:

- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and operations teams
- Contribute to shaping the strategic direction of our technology organization
- Lead technical planning and architecture initiatives, translating big problems into actionable increments- Thrive in a wide range of complex situations (e.g. rapid scaling, uncertainty, interconnectedness)
- Be a stakeholder in the product development process and provide constructive feedback
- Promote best-practices and show a commitment to engineering excellence through action

**It can be a perfect match if you meet...**
- Minimum +4 years experience with Ruby on Rails required.
- Minimum +2 years of work experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar cloud platforms
- Minimum +2 years with ReactJs
- Understands the principles of Cloud Native architecture
- Has designed APIs and is able to believably talk about examples of their work
- Has built product from discovery to commercial launch that's used by customers
- Comfort using version control (Git)
- Understands and has employed CI/CD patterns
- Understands of system reliability and stability patterns
- Clear communicator and native or professional level English

**It would also be a plus if you...**
- BA/BS or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field (Mathematics, Physics, etc) or equivalent experience
- Experience working in Banking, Finance or a FinTech organization
- Experience within a start-up or scale-up
- Experience within a product-focussed environment
