**Counterparty Onboarding Analyst**

**What is the role?**

Trading & Supply (T&S) has a heavy focus on compliance and KYC (Know your Customer)/financial crime remains a top focus area coming year. Counterparty on boarding, as well as remediation projects and reviews of existing counterparts are led by the Compliance department/Financial Crime Team in partnership with T&S Shell Energy Brazil (SEB). The Shell Energy business is intimately integrated into these projects, since they have a large impact on Shell Energy America’s ability to trade with counterparts and meet business objectives.

Customer onboarding and management is a key focus for T&S and the SEB business in the coming year(s) where various projects, process improvement opportunities and simplifications are expected. We are experiencing growth in our business as part of the global plan and onboarding and periodic review of new and existing counterparties is a critical function within the pillar of our global strategy.

This role will support the business on managing the above, reporting into the into the SEAm Counterparty Lifecycle Manager.

The role will be accountable for the following:

- Act as business rep/focal point for issues or feedback and current status of request
- Explain how E2E process works to business, and set expectations on timescales
- Explain what docs are required and why
- Coordinate priorities for each business
- Follow-up on issues and delayed requests (e.g. Counterparties not sending docs)
- Check Counterparty (single counterparty list / MDN / GT) which do not exist
- Determine request type (create or update or other), enter requests in MDN. Specific activities include:

- Managing documents in SharePoint or appropriate agreed document repository
- Building business understanding and context for requests
- Translating documents received from Counterparty
- Attending business meetings to present onboarding end to end performance
- Tax: Validate Tax number and request Tax approval if required
- Taxpayer ID
- Request all end to end documentation including required Financial Crime documentation (as per document collection matrix), Credit and where necessary conduct Counterparty outreach (data privacy reqs understanding)
- Credit: Latest audited financials
- KYC: checklist Initial Due Diligence (as determined in the KYC Standards and Initial Due Diligence(“IDD”) Standard Operating Procedures(“SOP”))
- FO Data: MDN request / W9 US tax forms / banking forms (to be determined after banking review)

The job will also offer the opportunity to be exposed to the trading environment and acquire basic understanding of the trading features of the overall SEB business.

- Partner COF analysts based in other regions/hubs
- Assist in various remediation projects.
- Works with COF analysts to on-board new counterparts weekly.

**What we need from you**
- Must have legal authorization to work in the Brazil on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
- Bachelor's degree is advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years of regulatory experience and knowledge/experience in KYC/financial crime is required.
- Hands-on mentality, self-starter, practical problem-solving approach, generate own ideas to smoothen the process.
- Stakeholder management: able to work actively with SEB’s originators and traders, and the Compliance as well as KYC-team.
- Communication and reporting, well developed skills: clear and frequent reporting back to the business.
- Advice + implementation: advice on improvements, including ideas to make the SEB business ready for the future, i.e., implement a sustainable way of working
- Proficiency in English and Portuguese
