Systems Engineer II can fall into one of three broad categories: (1) a customer-focused SE, (2) a technical specialist overlay SE, or (3) a hybrid SE - a combination of the two. The SE II is a customer-focused technical professional with direct technical responsibility for a specific Technology and an understanding of underlying technologies. All SEs engage customers in person or through collaborative tools and technologies such as Skype, video conferencing, etc. Some SEs may be deployed in a pooled/shared capacity some of the time. Responsibilities, competencies, and behaviors for dedicated and clustered/shared SEs remain largely the same.

Reports to: Network Engineering and Architecture Manager

Service Request Load: Can be a dedicated resource (3-15 SR) or overlay depending on segment or theater needs
- Main responsibilities
- Identify opportunities;
- Participate in the creation of Architectural Projects, providing information on local needs;
- Participate in the creation of a Technical Implementation Plan;
- Proactively participate and support client meetings, seminars and education to understand the business process;
Qualify opportunities
- Define the customer's business problem in a technical context;
- Recommend qualified resources if needed;
- Help plan and move SR through the SR process, knowing how and when to engage the appropriate PI tools and resources, and partners;
- Refine and research SR technical requirements;
- Define solution options and articulate the benefits of a solution;
- Understand and research potential competitive offers for the proposed solution;
- Develop and present solutions;
- Understand the technical elements and different approaches to the development of proposals
- Research and demonstrate solution ROI
- Coordinate solution development, including leveraging replicable architectures and researching custom solutions
- Identify and engage appropriate post-implementation support resources
- Develop PoC, including presentation and documentation of test results
- Develop or supervise the development of presentation materials
- Present technical components of solutions to the customer
- Act as a technical consultant to the customer and team in the area of technological expertise (SE technical specialist)

- Position appropriate IT services for customers to consider when deploying a technology solution;
- Establish advanced expertise in wireless networking and network platform design;
- Knowledge of Cisco Wireless APs, WLCs, Core Infrastructure, and MSE;
- Implementation of Cisco Wireless Controllers and conducting wireless surveys using products like Air Magnet, Ekahau, and Cisco Spectrum Expert.

**Qualifications/Requirements**:
**Skills needed**
- 5+ years of experience with a wireless site survey, network design, and implementation;
- Demonstrate knowledge of Voice Grade Wireless, Location Based Wireless, and Data Grade Wireless standards;
- Familiarity with Ekahau, Air Magnet, Prime, or other wireless monitoring and surveying solutions;
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and ability to install and troubleshoot LANs and WANs;
- Experience in designing network solutions as per customer requirements and objectives
