**Location**: Sao Paulo **Team**: Corporate Functions **Employment Type**: Regular **Job Code**: A243416A **Responsibilities**: **Team Introduction**: The Credit and Collections team at ByteDance LATAM, based in Brazil, is responsible for managing the region’s credit risk exposure, ensuring timely cash collections, and maintaining a healthy accounts receivable portfolio. The team supports business growth by assessing customer creditworthiness, setting appropriate credit limits, and implementing collection strategies aligned with company policies and local market conditions. We work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate financial risks, improve cash flow, and strengthen internal controls related to billing, payments, and receivables management. Through proactive analysis and collaboration, we help sustain a strong control environment and ensure operational excellence across the region. **Hybrid Work Model**: We are back to the office with a hybrid work model, with employees working in the office three days per week. **Position Summary**: We are seeking a stellar Collections Specialist to join our Sao Paulo office. In this role, you will handle AR related activities and improve debt collection processes in the LATAM region, among other responsibilities. **Responsibilities**: - Drive cash collections for customers across LATAM by managing the entire collection cycle — from invoice issuance to payment receipt. - Partner with Sales, Billing, Operations and Legal teams to ensure accurate invoicing, resolve discrepancies, and maintain a positive client experience. - Monitor and analyze AR aging reports, identify high-risk accounts, and implement proactive collection strategies. - Track and report regional risks and overdue metrics, ensuring performance aligns with corporate targets. - Manage escalations and propose payment plans or credit holds when necessary. - Support cash collections escalations and suspension confirmation from external vendors. - Ensure compliance with local tax and invoicing regulations (e.g., Nota Fiscal, SAT, etc.) across LATAM markets. - Other collection related tasks, such as internal team meetings, cross-functional collaboration. - Contribute to process automation and system improvements (collection tool). - Collaborate with global teams to standardize and enhance best practices in credit and collections. **Qualifications**: **Minimum Qualifications**: - Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. - 3-5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit, or Cash Collections in a multinational environment. - High written proficiency in English and Portuguese is required for documentation and system use. Intermediate written proficiency in Spanish is required to communicate with customers based in Spanish-speaking markets. - Strong understanding of LATAM billing, tax, and payment processes (including local documentation and compliance requirements). - Proven ability to manage a high volume of accounts and meet collection targets. - Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets for reporting and analysis. **Preferred Qualifications**: - Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills. - Customer-centric approach with professionalism under pressure. - Self-starter with high ownership and accountability. - Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving business environment. - Experience in media, tech, or digital industries is a plus.
