Strategy and Planning Specialist

Viasat has multiple fast-growing, unique businesses with a range of growth opportunities and strategies that need in-depth analysis and evaluation. Viasat’s strategic business development team works closely with the company’s leaders to develop and execute strategic initiatives that will drive Viasat’s domestic and worldwide growth.

The Strategic Planning Manager Brazil will collaborate with teams across the business groups to deliver insights, reports and data products to improve business results and enhance Viasat’s ability to grow and achieve its goals.

**The key responsibilities include**:

- Identify, and evaluate strategic opportunities.
- Measure and assess performance of any aspect of a monthly recurring revenue and cost businesses, with use of metrics and KPIs, in order to define forecast.
- Analyze and integrate new and complex opportunities and financial returns into our corporate plan, working closely with our financial planning and analysis team as well as key business area finance.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports, perform analysis of forecasts, actual and variance.
- Use analytics to improve business effectiveness and understand causality and drivers of success.
- Build effective cross-functional relationships with colleagues from product, service, sales, engineering, legal, regulatory, tax and business management.

In addition to strong leadership capability, achievement of our success objectives requires strategic agility, program management skills, and a deep interest in sales and performance optimization. You are a self-starter who can operate both tactically and strategically. It requires excellent business insight, regional expertise, creativity, and technical aptitude.

**Requirements**:

- 5+ years of experience at a telecommunications company, corporate strategy, corporate development and planning experience at a technology, telecommunications, or adjacent company.
- Bachelor's degree required
- Advanced MS Excel skills with demonstrated experience in dynamic financial modeling and analysis, valuation modeling and techniques (including pricing, NPV, IRR, cashflow, and earnings impact).
- Experience in go-to-market strategy modeling and launch
- Wide knowledge of different business models and the creativity to continuously explore new and different financial models, metrics, and valuation methods.
- Exceptional aptitude for creating structured quantitative and qualitative analyses to analyze business cases and their sensitivity through financial models
- Experience with forecast management and tracking
- Able to articulately present and debate strategic recommendations with senior leadership.
- Experience with BI tools development (Power BI, Python), report automation and georeferencing maps
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a particular passion for technology.
- Experience in a subscription-based consumer (B2C) and business (B2B), and familiarity of the customer lifecycle and customer journey.
- A collaborative mindset, sense of curiosity and desire for impact.
- Excellent communication skills in both writing and speaking.
- Demonstrated success working cross-functionally in matrixed organizations.
- High tolerance for change
- Very proactive and problem solving skill
