Title and Summary
People Reporting & Data Analyst: Data Operations
Mastercard is a global leader in technology and payments, committed to empowering businesses and economies to thrive. Our Global People Operations & Insights team is at the forefront of leveraging data to drive strategic decisions about our most valuable asset - our talent.
Mastercard has an enterprise-wide charter focused on data management capabilities, including Data Management Maturity, Data Strategy, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Operations, Data Platforms, and Data Literacy. The team's mission is to ensure that every decision-maker at Mastercard has timely access to the trusted data they need to increase margin and to guide us to increased revenue.
Role
- First point of contact for operational reporting & metrics requests from stakeholders across multiple functions globally
- Partners closely with Senior Data Analysts within the broader People Operations and Insights team to identify opportunities to create scalable reporting solutions & visualizations
- Sees beyond requestors’ asks to understand the root query or challenge for which data are being requested
- Validates and enforces people data integrity in collaboration with Data management & HR Systems teams
- Demonstrates exceptional judgment and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive people data
All About You
Essential
- Experience in working with organizational/workforce data
- Experience operating in an environment with handling multiple priorities at any given time
- Proactive approach and style; comfortable with navigating through areas of ambiguity
- Excel experience including creating pivot tables, conditional formulas and formatting, VLOOKUPs, and charts/graphs
- Experience with querying databases (SQL preferred)
- Strong ability to see the forest for the trees, and implement creative strategies to reduce ad-hoc request volume and increase value
- Ability to collaborate with peers and cross functional teams, working across multiple time zones
- Flexible and responsive, with ability to adapt to rapid change in direction or business priority
- Openness to feedback and strong self-awareness
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work within the confines of data governance and privacy standards
Desirable
- Experience using HRIS tools (Workday preferred)
- Experience in relationship building across large scale organizations
- Experience managing and analyzing structured and unstructured data using tools such as SQL, R, or Python
- Familiarity with ETL tool capabilities and utility (e.g., Alteryx, Informatica)
- Experience in BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, and Domo preferred)
