**Your role**
- Operational Risk Controllers are the liaisons between 1st line of defense Risk Management and the entire enterprise. Serving as both an effective challenger and a trusted advisor, Operational Risk Controllers are integrated into multiple dimensions of first line risk-taking activities. As a member of the Operational Risk Control team supporting our Wealth Management (GWM) and Investment Banking (IB) businesses in Latin America, your role will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, superb integrative thinking across all facets of non-financial risk, and a desire to help the enterprise properly manage those risks.
- providing oversight and challenge to the First Line of Defense’s risk-taking activities and influencing actions required to mitigate associated risks
- evaluating the Non-Financial Risk profile and risk analysis of the business
- evaluating new products and initiatives from an operational risk perspective
- providing consultation and risk framework expertise to the business
- working across the multiple dimensions of Non-Financial Risk programs and understand how they impact the business and mitigation required
- supporting the Non-Financial Risk Control activities for the business areas of Wealth Management and Investment Banking in the LatAm region (including Brazil, Mexico, Bahamas, Panama)

**Your team**
- You'll work in the LATAM Operational Risk Control team led by the Head of LATAM Operational Risk Control. This is a dynamic, driven, and diverse team of professionals, with oversight responsibility for managing the operational risks arising from UBS' business in the LATAM. You’ll also be aligned with the local C&ORC team for LatAm and respective 2LoD colleagues across Compliance and Financial Crimes.

**Your expertise**
- a Bachelor's degree - or international equivalent - in a relevant area of study required
- 1+ years of prior operational risk, audit, or controls experience - ideally with a financial institution, at a regulatory agency, or major consulting firm
- some experience with financial services regulations and products (particularly within Brazil, Mexico, or other LatAm countries), cross-border considerations and an understanding of the legal and regulatory expectations / requirements related to financial services
- judgement and integrative thinking skills, risk management and risk assessment knowledge
- structured, rigorous, analytical, and thorough in your approach with the ability to form defensible conclusions from risk assessments
- team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills, able to calmly manage conflict and pressure in a demanding, high-volume environment
- experienced in handling sensitive information with a high degree of discretion”
